Zamung Kor - A Project For The Street Children Of Peshawar 2015
In a significant development, Bazeecha Trust was elected as a Member of the Board of Governors for Zamung Kor, a dedicated home for street children. This honor not only recognized the Trust's unwavering commitment to social welfare but also presented an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of these vulnerable children. With heartfelt gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility, Bazeecha Trust decided to express its appreciation by establishing a thoughtfully designed "Play Room" exclusively for the street children of Zamung Kor.
The creation of this Play Room was inspired by the Trust's vision to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment where these state children could not only experience joy and play but also receive the necessary support to transition smoothly into mainstream schools.
The impact of the Play Room on the lives of these street children was profound. It became a sanctuary where they could escape the hardships of their past and find solace, joy, and hope. The engaging activities and resources helped them build crucial social skills, enabling them to forge meaningful connections with their peers and develop a sense of belonging. Their self-confidence grew, and they discovered their own capabilities and potential.

Recognising the urgent need for education in the densely populated Afghan refugee camp in Peshawar, Bazeecha Trust took a significant step forward by establishing a school specifically catering to the children of Afghan refugees. The circumstances surrounding this initiative were complex, as cultural barriers and local resistance posed formidable challenges. However, the Trust remained undeterred in its mission to provide quality education and opportunities for these marginalised children. One of the major hurdles faced in this endeavour was the prevailing attitude towards girls' education within the Afghan community. Cultural norms and societal pressures often discouraged the education of girls.
In spite of the resistance faced from the locals, we were able to establish a school. The process involved engaging with community leaders, conducting awareness campaigns, and emphasising the importance of education for all, regardless of gender. By fostering dialogue and highlighting the long-term benefits of educating girls, the Trust managed to garner support and cooperation from key stakeholders.
The impact of the school went beyond academics. It became a sanctuary for the Afghan refugee children, offering them a safe and nurturing environment where they could develop academically, emotionally, and socially. Through the establishment of this school, Bazeecha Trust demonstrated its unwavering commitment to education and its dedication to uplifting marginalised communities.

In a remarkable endeavor to bridge the educational gap for underprivileged children, a school was established in the village of Karore, located on the outskirts of Islamabad.
