In the wake of the devastating 2005 earthquake in Pakistan, Bazeecha Welfare Foundation emerged as a beacon of hope for the countless individuals left homeless and in desperate need of support. Our non-profit organisation was founded with a core mission to provide safety, shelter, and holistic assistance to impoverished women and children who were most profoundly impacted by the disaster. At Bazeecha Welfare Foundation, we understand that merely providing shelter is not enough to address the long-term needs of these vulnerable individuals. Therefore, we have created a nurturing environment within our shelters, where our residents can not only find refuge but also access the essential tools for personal growth and empowerment. We believe in the transformative power of education, and thus we prioritize providing quality education, life skills training, and vocational programs to equip our beneficiaries with the necessary skills for self-sufficiency and a brighter future.
Presently, we operate two shelters in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, providing a safe haven for 145 females. However, our impact doesn't end there. The numbers continue to grow as we expand our reach and extend a helping hand to more women and children in need. The resilience and determination of these individuals, coupled with the unwavering support of our donors, volunteers, and community partners, have enabled us to create a ripple effect of positive change in countless lives. We take great pride in the remarkable transformations we witness every day, as these individuals overcome adversity and discover their innate potential. The success stories that emerge from our shelters are a testament to the collective effort and unwavering support that fuels our work.
Together, with our dedicated team, compassionate donors, selfless volunteers, and invaluable community partners, we are forging a brighter future for the most vulnerable members of our community. By ensuring their well-being and empowering them to thrive, we are creating a more equitable and inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to realise their dreams.

How Our Journey Began
In 2005, Pakistan was struck by a catastrophic earthquake that resulted in a widespread humanitarian crisis. The aftermath was devastating, with the loss of more than 80,000 lives and the displacement of approximately 4 million individuals, leaving them without homes or basic necessities. It was in this critical moment that Bazeecha Welfare Foundation emerged, driven by a sense of urgency and compassion.
In Swat, one of the severely affected regions, our swift response allowed us to immediately address the urgent needs of those impacted by the disaster. Our primary focus during the initial emergency phase was on saving lives and providing immediate shelter to the displaced individuals, particularly prioritizing the well-being of women and young girls who were especially vulnerable in such challenging circumstances. Recognizing the importance of secure shelter as a fundamental requirement for their safety and protection from further harm, we realized the need for a sustainable solution. Motivated by the dire circumstances and the pressing need to ensure the well-being of the affected individuals, Bazeecha Welfare Foundation was established. We understood that merely providing temporary relief was insufficient; a comprehensive approach was necessary to address the long-term needs of those who had lost everything. Our commitment extended beyond immediate assistance, and we recognized the significance of providing a safe and nurturing environment where individuals could rebuild their lives.
The establishment of Bazeecha Welfare Foundation marked a pivotal moment in our journey. It enabled us to channel our resources, expertise, and collective efforts into ensuring that adequate shelter, along with essential services, was accessible to those affected by the earthquake. This commitment to securing a stable and sustainable future for the displaced individuals continues to guide our work and shape our initiatives.
Through our relentless dedication and the support of our partners, volunteers, and donors, we have been able to make a positive impact on the lives of countless individuals. Bazeecha Welfare Foundation stands as a beacon of hope, providing not only shelter but also comprehensive support, including education, skills development, and empowerment programs. Together, we strive to create a future where those affected by disasters can rebuild their lives with dignity and resilience, fostering a sense of belonging and well-being within their communities.
Creation Of Bazeecha Trust In 2006
The Bazeecha Welfare Foundation goes beyond being a mere physical structure; it stands as a sanctuary that embodies security, privacy, and an unwavering commitment to dignity. Guided by this profound vision, we procured a house in Abbottabad to serve as a refuge for women and young girls in need, providing them with vital necessities such as food, medication, hygiene facilities, and basic education.
Our mission extended beyond meeting their immediate needs. We recognised the importance of nurturing their overall well-being, encompassing their physical, emotional, and intellectual development. With this in mind, we dedicated ourselves to creating a nurturing environment where every female under our care could experience personal growth, find healing, and forge a path towards a brighter future. As our journey progressed, we relocated the shelter to Rawalpindi, expanding both our reach and capacity to impact more lives. From humble beginnings as a relief effort in response to the devastating earthquake, we started by providing care and support to 10 females who had been displaced by the disaster. Today, our shelter home proudly accommodates 140 females, with the number growing rapidly as we extend our services to more individuals in need.
The growth and expansion of our shelter home reflect the unwavering dedication and collective efforts of our team, as well as the immeasurable support from our donors, volunteers, and community partners. Their steadfast commitment has made it possible for us to touch the lives of countless individuals, offering them solace, hope, and the opportunity to rebuild their lives. Together, we are writing a remarkable story of resilience and empowerment. As we move forward, our shelter home continues to be a haven of transformation, where the most vulnerable members of our community find the strength to overcome adversity and embrace a future filled with promise.
